Hugh Masekela at the opening of the World Cup
Hugh Masekela will make a global TV appearance tonight as part of the opening of the World Cup.
This month he was on the cover of the French Jazz magazine"So Jazz"
Hugh Masekela will be back to Europe again this summer for various shows.

Dubbelconcert Rabozaal Melkweg: Hugh Masekela & The Mahotella Queens
Met de wereldkampioenschappen voetbal voor de deur, zal de aftrap worden gedaan door Hugh Masekela in een uniek concert samen met The Mahotella Queens in de Rabozaal van de Melkweg in Amsterdam op vrijdag 28 mei om 20.30 uur.
Met een turbulent leven achter de rug dendert Masekela, nu zeventig jaar oud, nog steeds voort. Een vijfendertigtal albums op zijn naam waarvan de meeste platina, een kortstondig huwelijk met wijlen zangeres Miriam Makeba en natuurlijk de vele muzikale ontmoetingen met artiesten als Paul Simon, Harry Belafonte, The Byrds, Bob Geldof, Ladysmith Black Mambazo en Bob Marley. Nog steeds bewijst Masekela dat hij het in zijn mars heeft het publiek een onvergetelijk swingende avond te bezorgen.
Samen met de legendarische diva's van de Zuid Afrikaanse muziek, The Mahotella Queens, een dubbelschot in de roos voor liefhebbers van afrobeat en sterke podiumpersoonlijkheden!

Fatoumata Diawara has been a professional actress for more than ten years. She became known as an actress in her role as princess Karaba in the musical comedy Kirikou et Karaba. Fatoumata started singing as a child and has been working as a composer, singer songwriter for the past two years. As a musician, Fatoumata has toured in the past with Oumou Sangare and Cheikh Tidiane Seck. During World Sessions she'll be touring with her own band. Don't miss out on her!
